| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field contains four horizontal lines of Kufic Arabic text arranged within a plain inner circle, naming the caliph al-Muntasir Billah. The inner marginal legend carries the blessing formula upon the Prophet. The outer marginal legend presents a Quranic verse from Surat al-Rum (30:4-5) referencing divine authority and the rejoicing of the believers in God's victory. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hammered Abbasid silver dirhams of the Samarra mint period. The overall style and epigraphy are characteristic of the transitional coinage struck briefly during al-Muntasir's short reign. |
