A marginal legend in Kufic script runs continuously around the inner circle, with an additional outer marginal inscription occupying the broad border. The legends are bold and deeply struck, characteristic of mid-Abbasid hammered silver coinage. The overall design is entirely epigraphic, with no figural or decorative motifs. |

| Opis rewersu | Central field bears the name and titles of the Caliph al-Mu'tazz Billah, rendered in multiple horizontal lines of Kufic Arabic script within a plain inner circle, with a small ornamental device above the uppermost line of text. A continuous marginal legend in Kufic script encircles the inner field, recording the mint name and AH date, while a further outer marginal inscription occupies the raised border. The die work is typical of provincial Abbasid mint production of the 252–255 AH period. |
