Obverse description Central field bears the name and titulature of al-Fadl II b. Shawur in prominent Kufic Arabic script, with the name 'al-Fadl' clearly legible in bold relief. The central inscription is enclosed within a circular border, surrounded by a marginal religious legend in Arabic script occupying the outer ring of the flan. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of hammered Islamic dirhams of this period.

Reverse description Central field displays the titulature of the Seljuq overlord Tughril Beg in Arabic Kufic script, acknowledging Seljuq suzerainty over the Shaddadid dynasty. The marginal legend surrounding the central inscription cites the reigning Abbasid caliph, following standard Islamic coin protocol of the period. The overall layout conforms to the conventional concentric-band arrangement typical of hammered silver dirhams of the eleventh-century Islamic world.
