The entire design is executed in angular Kufic script typical of Andalusian coinage of the early Caliphal period, with no figural imagery, conforming strictly to Islamic aniconic tradition. The field is flat and unadorned save for the inscriptions, and the coin exhibits the slightly irregular flan characteristic of hammered silver production. |
