Additional information

Saratokos ruled the Odrysian Kingdom during a period of fragmentation following the death of Seuthes I, when the once-dominant Thracian state had splintered among competing dynasts. His coinage is exceptionally rare precisely because his authority was regional rather than paramount — he controlled a reduced territory in a kingdom that had seen its peak power under Sitalces and Amadocus. The blank reference fields across Youroukova, Moushmov, and Dobruski speak plainly: most major catalogers simply never encountered enough examples to classify them.
