Reverse description The forepart of a bull's head and neck, shown in left-facing profile, set within a pelleted square border that is itself contained within a deeply sunk incuse square punch. The bovine features are rendered with compact, stylised relief, the curving neck and muzzle clearly articulated within the confined flan. The granulated or pelleted inner border frames the central device and serves as a decorative and functional boundary. No inscription is present. This reverse type is a hallmark of archaic and early Classical Samian coinage.
