Obverse description A plain cross occupies the central field, its arms extending toward the inner beaded circle. The county name legend GIRVNDA is disposed around the cross between two concentric beaded circles. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, characteristic of early medieval hammered coinage from the County of Girona.

Reverse description The central field displays stylized vegetal or foliate ornaments arranged symmetrically, a decorative motif typical of Carolingian-influenced Iberian deniers of this period. The abbreviated county name legend GIRNDA is disposed around the ornamental design between beaded circles. The overall fabric is crude and the strike uneven, consistent with hammered production of the 10th–11th century.
