正面描述 Facing crowned bust of King Sancho I in high relief, depicted in a stylized medieval manner with flanking six-pointed stars in the field on either side of the effigy. The bust is set within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend surrounding it in the outer margin. The portrait is characteristic of early 14th-century Majorcan hammered coinage, rendered with bold if somewhat crude workmanship typical of the period.

附加信息

Sancho I ruled Majorca as a client of the French crown, his kingdom perpetually squeezed between Aragonese ambition and Angevin pressure. These dineros were struck under the terms of vassalage established after the partition of the Mallorcan inheritance — Sancho holding the island kingdom while Aragon retained the mainland Catalan territories. The billon content is notably debased even by the standards of contemporary peninsular issues, reflecting chronic fiscal strain rather than deliberate monetary policy.
