Reverse description Central device depicting a rampant lion facing sinister, crowned, within a beaded inner circle, rendered in the heraldic Gothic style typical of late 14th- to early 15th-century Castilian issues. The lion occupies the majority of the inner field, with its tail curled and forepaws raised. The circumferential Latin legend is distributed between the inner and outer beaded borders. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-hammered medieval production.
