Obverse description A plain cross with a stepped base occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross is boldly rendered in the Romanesque hammered style typical of Iberian medieval coinage. A Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, reading +ARAGONENSI, referencing the Kingdom of Aragon. The flan is irregular in shape, as characteristic of hand-struck medieval dineros.
