The attendant on the left is dressed in full Sasanian royal regalia, while the figure on the right appears similarly attired, both rendered with beaded ornamentation typical of the period. The scene conveys the Zoroastrian sacred fire cult central to Sasanian royal ideology. A Inscriptional Pahlavi legend in the field identifies the fire as the Fire of Bahram.
