Reverse description Two standing figures facing, identified as Stefan Uroš IV Dušan and his patron saint Stefan the First-Crowned (St. Stephen), jointly holding a tall patriarchal cross between them; a banner bearing the Latin inscription REX in three lines (R/Є/X) appears to the left of the cross, and the letter O is placed to the lower right of the composition. Both figures are rendered in Byzantine hieratic style, dressed in royal and ecclesiastical vestments respectively.
