Reverse description The reverse, as visible in the image, presents Christ Pantokrator standing facing within a beaded inner border, nimbate with a cruciform halo, robed in draped garments rendered with fine parallel striping. Christ raises his right hand in benediction and holds the Book of Gospels in his left hand, flanked by two ornate throne-like pillars adorned with pellets. The Christogram abbreviations IC and XC appear in the upper field to either side, consistent with Byzantine iconographic convention.
