| Obverse description | The obverse depicts a bare-headed King Stefan Uroš I standing facing, receiving a patriarchal cross from St. Stephen (Sveti Stefan), who is shown nimbate and standing to the left. Both figures are rendered in the Byzantine hieratic style typical of medieval Serbian coinage. A two-line Latin legend appears on either side of the central design, identifying the king and the patron saint. |
