Obverse description Standing frontal figure of Archangel Michael depicted in stylized Byzantine fashion, with spread wings and nimbus; the figure occupies the central field of the small hammered flan. A partial Latin legend reading CONTE (S)T(EFAN) surrounds the figure, referencing the title of Stefan Lazarević as Count (Comes). The crude, irregular striking typical of late medieval Serbian coinage is evident in the uneven fields and die alignment.
