The script is deeply struck in high relief, with characteristic Mamluk calligraphic style featuring sweeping ascenders and interlocking letterforms. The flat, irregular flan is typical of hammered Mamluk gold coinage of the mid-fourteenth century. No figurative imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic numismatic convention. |
