Beschrijving keerzijde A stepped Zoroastrian fire altar occupies the center of the reverse, with flames rising from the altar top surmounted by a crescent. Two royal attendants or guards stand flanking the altar, each facing inward; Pahlavi inscriptions appear in the fields to either side of the altar. Aanvullende informatie

Shapur III's reign was notably brief and ended in assassination — reportedly killed by his own nobles, possibly by having his tent collapsed on him while he slept. His gold coinage is correspondingly scarce, and the SNS Iran unlisted status of this particular die combination suggests it falls outside the documented type sequence, making it of genuine interest to Sasanian specialists rather than simply a gap in the reference.
