Two long ribbons or knotted bands hang from either side of the altar top, flanked by two small attendant figures or supports at the base. Two lateral side-altars or small fire stands with hemispherical bowls appear to the left and right of the central column, all set within a beaded border. The composition follows the standard Sasanian reverse type, emphasizing the sacred Zoroastrian fire cult. |
