Reverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription identifying the Buyid amir Rukn al-Dawla (Hasan ibn Buya) along with his laqab and kunya, arranged in horizontal lines within a plain inner circle. The name of the Abbasid caliph may appear as suzerain acknowledgment in accordance with Buyid numismatic convention. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script encircles the central inscription, contained between two concentric beaded or dotted borders. The coin's reverse reflects the characteristic Buyid practice of asserting dual political legitimacy through both the reigning amir's titles and nominal Abbasid caliphal authority.
