The entire design is purely epigraphic with no figurative imagery, consistent with Abbasid aniconic coinage tradition. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, as is characteristic of hammered gold dinars of this period. |

A circular marginal legend in Kufic script borders the central text, separated by a beaded or plain inner ring. The reverse, like the obverse, is entirely epigraphic in design, with no decorative motifs, reflecting the austere and orthodox aesthetic of Abbasid gold coinage. The lettering is bold and well-formed, characteristic of the high-quality dies used during the reign of Harun al-Rashid. |
