The central area bears the name and titles of Caliph al-Hakam II — al-Mustansir billah — together with the name Yahya, disposed across three lines. A circular marginal legend containing a Quranic verse (Quran 9:33) runs along the inner border, enclosed within a plain outer rim. The flan is slightly irregular, characteristic of hammered gold issues struck at Madinat al-Zahra. |
