The entire design is characteristic of the distinctive Almohad square-in-circle coinage format. |

| Description du revers | Central square frame containing multiple lines of Arabic inscription in flowing cursive script, recording the name and titles of the Hafsid caliph Abu Hafs Umar along with Quranic invocations. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script surrounds the square, separated from it by a plain field and enclosed within an outer beaded border. The layout and epigraphy closely mirror the obverse, following the established Almohad and early Hafsid coinage tradition of purely epigraphic design without figural imagery. |
