Reverse description Reverse of hammered gold dinar displaying multiple horizontal lines of Maghribi cursive Arabic script within a central rectangular panel framed by a dotted inner border. The inscriptions name the ruler Abu Faris 'Abd Allah al-Wathiq billah and record the mint city of Marrakesh along with the Hijri year of issue. The surrounding marginal area contains additional religious or formulaic legends. The flan is of irregular shape with typical edge irregularities consistent with hand-hammered Saadian mint production.
