| Beschrijving keerzijde | A crab rendered frontally in high relief, its carapace finely detailed and claws outstretched symmetrically to either side, serving as the principal civic emblem of Akragas. Beneath the crab, a Corinthian helmet is depicted in miniature, resting in the lower field. The entire design is set within a shallow incuse square, a hallmark of early Sicilian coinage technique. The composition is bold and well-centered, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting of Akragantine mint workers during the early Classical period. |
