Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square of irregular form, divided by raised ridges into four triangular compartments, each sunk to varying depths, creating a rough mill-sail or pinwheel pattern typical of early Archaic Greek coinage. The incuse is deeply struck and occupies the majority of the reverse flan. No inscription or figural device is present; the design is purely geometric and functional, reflecting the primitive reverse technique common to western Anatolian mints during the late sixth and early fifth centuries BC.
