| 正面描述 | Central shield of the Bishopric of Sion bearing three stylised pine branches arranged in a heraldic composition, surmounted by a bishop's mitre. The last two digits of the date are divided by the shield, with '4' at lower left and '9' at lower right, indicating the year 1549. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the central device within a beaded or rope border. |

Johannes Jordan served as Bishop of Sion from 1548 until his death in 1565, governing a see whose coinage rights were perpetually contested between the bishop and the seven dizains — the democratic assemblies of the Valais cantons. The Dicken was the standard large silver denomination of the Swiss monetary system in this period, adopted across numerous cantons and ecclesiastical lordships as trade with northern Italy demanded heavier silver currency.
The dating range of 1549–1557 suggests production across multiple die pairs rather than a single campaign.
