Pelinna was a minor Thessalian polis in the Histiaeotis region, and its bronze coinage is rarely encountered — the city's political subordination to the Thessalian League and later to Macedonian influence under Philip II left little room for independent monetary ambition. The BCD Thessaly II references here represent two distinct specimens from the landmark Nomos collection, which remains the primary scholarly anchor for attributing the more obscure Thessalian bronzes.
