| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in a bold archaic style typical of Thessalian civic bronzes of the early third century BC. The deity's hair is depicted in thick, ridged locks swept back from the brow, with the laurel wreath clearly visible encircling the head. The facial features are strongly modelled, with a prominent beard and well-defined brow lending the portrait a commanding, mature aspect. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, as is characteristic of hammered provincial bronzes of this period. The field is otherwise plain, with no visible inscription on this side. |
