| Reverse description | Central cornucopia, depicted upright and overflowing with foliage and fruit, flanked symmetrically on either side by a Pontic star-and-crescent symbol above a conical or bell-shaped pileus (cap of the Dioscuri). The three devices are arranged horizontally across the field, conveying themes of abundance and divine protection. The Greek ethnic legend ΑΜΙΣΟΥ is inscribed in two segments below the central and flanking devices, reading across the lower portion of the field. The composition is well-balanced within the broad flan, characteristic of the civic bronze coinage of Amisos during the Mithridatic period. |
