| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse presents a head of a griffin in profile facing left, rendered in low relief with the characteristic hooked beak and rounded skull of Phokaian coinage, the city's longstanding civic emblem. The griffin's eye is suggested by a raised pellet, and the curved neck terminates at the lower field. The surface is heavily corroded with a mixed green and tan patina, obscuring finer engraved details. No legend is present, in keeping with the anonymous small-denomination bronzes of Phokaia in this period. The flan edges are rough and irregular, as is typical of hammered provincial issues. |
