| 正面描述 | Draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus as Caesar, facing left and seen from the rear, with short beard and bare head. The paludamentum is visible over the cuirass. The encircling Greek legend identifies the subject as Marcus Aurelius Commodus Caesar, rendered in a provincial workshop style characteristic of Troas region bronzes of the Antonine period. |

Dardanus was a small coastal city in the Troad — the region of northwestern Asia Minor facing the Hellespont — whose civic bronze issues under the Antonines are poorly represented in major collections. The ΔΑΡΔΑΝΙωΝ ethnic places this firmly among the city's autonomous-style output struck during Commodus's time as co-emperor under Marcus Aurelius, before his sole reign began in 177. RPC IV.2 records very few specimens for this type, and die studies remain incomplete.
