The Caleti were a Belgic Gaulish people occupying the territory around the mouth of the Seine — the region Caesar identifies in the Gallic Wars as having submitted relatively early, around 56 BC. The decade bracketing this issue coincides precisely with Roman military pressure reshaping tribal coinage across northern Gaul, as minting authorities contracted and silver supplies grew uncertain.
DT#S-663 is a scarce type within Caleti output, which was never prolific to begin with.
