Two pellets appear in the upper field to either side of the tower. The surrounding legend is positioned between a beaded inner circle and the irregular flan edge. The design is derived from the Denier Tournois of Tours and adapted for Frankish Greek coinage, struck in a characteristically rough hammered style. |
