| 裏面の説明 | A bold cross occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle (grenetis). The legend OTTO REX PACIFICVS, invoking King Otto I 'the Peaceable', runs around the periphery between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border. The cross arms are plain and strongly struck, consistent with Ottonian denier coinage of the mid-tenth century. The overall design follows the standard Carolingian-derived cross-type used by episcopal mints of the period. |
