| Obverse description | Four-line inscription filling the field, reading VOTO / ARGENT / NA CIVI / TAS, referencing the city of Argentoratum (Strasbourg). The letters are rendered in the bold, angular style characteristic of Ottonian-era hammered coinage. A beaded border surrounds the entire design. The crude but legible lettering reflects the hand-engraved dies typical of mid-tenth century episcopal minting. |

| Reverse description | A bold cross occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle (grenetis). The legend OTTO REX PACIFICVS, invoking King Otto I 'the Peaceable', runs around the periphery between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border. The cross arms are plain and strongly struck, consistent with Ottonian denier coinage of the mid-tenth century. The overall design follows the standard Carolingian-derived cross-type used by episcopal mints of the period. |
