| Obverse description | Crude hammered die with a rectangular central field containing three large capital letters arranged vertically: E, A, and what appears to be a stylized character below, all within a rectilinear frame. The upper border bears a horizontal legend composed of vertical strokes flanking the letter B, reading III B III, in a Romanesque epigraphic style characteristic of 11th-century episcopal coinage. The overall design is highly schematic and abstract, typical of early medieval Rhenish deniers struck under ecclesiastical authority. |
