| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field dominated by a stylized monogram of Alberic, composed of interlaced letters within a beaded inner circle, rendered in the Carolingian monogram tradition. The monogram is enclosed by a raised beaded border, typical of contemporary Italian hammered coinage. The flan is irregular in shape, as characteristic of tenth-century Roman deniers struck by hand. The die engraving is bold but somewhat crude, reflecting the workshop practices of Alberician Rome. The circumferential legend surrounding the inner circle reads PACVS ALBERICVS PR, identifying the issuer as Prince Alberic the Peaceful. |
