Reverse description The reverse presents a three-line epigraphic legend reading the mint name, each line of text separated by two horizontal raised bars extending across the flan. Pellets punctuate the spaces between and around the letters, and additional pellets terminate the horizontal dividing lines at both ends. The whole composition is framed by a beaded border, consistent with the hammered technique and irregular flan characteristic of early Carolingian deniers.
