| Opis awersu | Broad, irregularly shaped silver flan struck by hammer, displaying the bold monogram 'RF' (Rex Francorum) in the field, composed of large, angular capital letters executed in the early Carolingian epigraphic style. A small central pellet separates the letters, with additional pellets visible in the left field. The design is unframed and occupies most of the flat flan, consistent with early Carolingian denier coinage of Pepin the Short. The surfaces show natural die wear and metal flow typical of hand-hammered production at a provincial mint. |
