| Opis rewersu | Central design features a cross pattee with small crosses filling each quadrant, the whole enclosed within a beaded inner circle. An additional ring of evenly spaced pellets surrounds the central motif, itself enclosed within a plain raised circle. The outer border displays a series of crescent and scroll ornaments similar to those on the obverse, consistent with the decorative vocabulary of Styrian Pfennig coinage under Otakar IV. |

Otakar IV ruled Styria through a period of intense rivalry between the Babenbergs and the Styrian margraves, ultimately resolving it himself: in 1186 he signed the Georgenberger Handfeste, a hereditary treaty ceding Styria to the Babenberg Duke Leopold V upon his death. He died in 1192, childless, and the duchy passed exactly as arranged. This coin predates that agreement and circulated under a ruler who knew his dynasty was ending.
