正面铭文 LIVTOLFVS DVX
背面描述 Schematic representation of a church or temple facade rendered on two registers, with the name of the moneyer occupying the positions normally reserved for columns, a common convention on Ottonian-era Bavarian deniers. The architectural motif evokes a stylised basilica, recalling the Regensburg (Ratisbon) mint tradition. A peripheral legend in Latin characters encircles the design within a beaded border, identifying the issuing city. The strike is characteristic of hand-hammered production, resulting in some softness of detail at the flan edges.

附加信息

Ludolph (Liudolf) of Bavaria held the duchy for barely two years before his death from fever in September 957 — though his effective control was contested almost from the start, as his father Otto I had granted him Bavaria only after suppressing his earlier rebellion. Coins attributable to his brief tenure are scarce precisely because the political situation never stabilized long enough for mint operations to normalize.

Kluge's attribution relies heavily on die analysis rather than documentary evidence, and the dating window of 953–955 reflects ongoing scholarly debate.
