Beschrijving voorzijde Central plain cross with a pellet in each of the four quarters, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross arms are bold and slightly raised, characteristic of Carolingian hammered coinage. A circular legend in large Carolingian capitals runs between the beaded circle and the irregular coin edge, reading the emperor's name and title. The overall style reflects the standardized Carolingian denier type introduced under Charlemagne and continued under his successors.

Beschrijving keerzijde A stylized temple or church facade depicted with four columns framing a central crosslet, the structure surmounted by an additional crosslet at its apex, rendered in the conventional Carolingian monumental type. This temple motif, derived ultimately from Roman coin traditions, was widely used on Carolingian deniers to evoke imperial and ecclesiastical authority. A circular legend in bold Carolingian capitals encircles the design between the temple and the coin's irregular hammered edge, identifying the Bordeaux mint. The flan shows typical irregular shaping and minor cracking consistent with hand-struck Carolingian silver coinage.
