| Popis rubu | A facing bust of Emperor Otto I is depicted in high relief at the centre of the coin, rendered in a schematic, Romanesque style typical of Ottonian-era ecclesiastical coinage. The emperor's face is shown frontally with stylised features, framed by flowing hair falling to the sides and surmounted by an imperial crown adorned with pellets and a central cross. A beaded border encloses the bust, around which runs the circular Latin legend OTTO IMPERATO, abbreviated due to the restricted flan, identifying the co-issuing authority as the Holy Roman Emperor. The reverse design reflects the dual authority of Pope and Emperor that characterised the brief political alliance of 962–963. |
