| Description de l’avers | Central field occupied by a cross pattée, the arms of which extend nearly to the inner beaded border. The quadrants formed by the cross arms are filled with decorative elements in the Gothic provincial style typical of Epirote coinage. A circular beaded inner border frames the central device, with the Latin legend IOhS DESPOTVS distributed around the periphery. The flan is characteristically irregular, struck on a roughly rounded planchet with uneven edges. The overall workmanship reflects the modest billon coinage of the Despotate of Epirus under John II Orsini. |

| Description du revers | Central field displays a frontal effigy of a crowned figure, rendered in the schematic style characteristic of medieval Epirote hammered billon coinage. The figure appears robed, with stylized facial features and a crown visible above the head, consistent with the representation of the Despot in his regal authority. A beaded inner border encircles the central design, with the Latin legend DE ARTA CASTRV distributed around the periphery, identifying the mint city of Arta and its castle.
