Reverse description Within a raised inner circle, a group of letters including V, I, C, O and C are arranged in a debased and partially retrograde manner around the central field, forming a degraded monogram-like composition. A small annular pellet or ring is discernible at the centre. The surrounding legend in the outer field reads VICOC ALBIE CI, a corrupted rendering of the viscomital title and the city name Albi. Cross pattée ornaments fill the four outer quadrants between the inner circle and the irregular flan edge, mirroring the obverse layout and consistent with feudal southern French deniers of the mid-11th century.
