| Descrizione del dritto | Central field occupied by a highly degenerate and schematized Carolingian KRLS monogram, characteristic of late immobilized issues struck long after the reign of Charles the Simple. The monogram has deteriorated into an abstract arrangement of strokes and curves, rendered in a crude, deeply struck style typical of feudal hammered coinage. A surrounding legend in Latin runs along the periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded inner border. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hand-cut medieval planchets. |
