Obverse description A plain cross at center, its four angles each occupied by a pellet or bezant, the whole enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A Latin legend reading +HERIMANNVS runs around the periphery, separated from the central design by the grenetis border. The strike is characteristic of early medieval hammered coinage, with slightly irregular flan and flat relief typical of tenth-century Swabian deniers.
