Opis awersu	Central field dominated by a cross pattée enclosed within a pearl or beaded inner circle, with decorative elements in each quadrant formed by curved or wedge-shaped ornaments. A circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, rendered in the angular, somewhat irregular letterforms characteristic of late tenth-century Bavarian hammered coinage. The overall design reflects the Ottonian-Salian ecclesiastical and regal iconographic tradition common to Regensburg mint issues of this period.

The Bavarian duchy had been restored to him in 995 after years of fragmentation and redistribution among rival claimants under Otto III, and coinage rights were among the clearest assertions of recovered ducal authority. Hahn Radas 25a is a scarce variety within the series.
