A small central boss or pellet marks the intersection of the cross arms. The four quarters of the field are each occupied by a small ring or annulet with a central pellet, arranged symmetrically to reinforce the cruciform composition. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, and the workmanship reflects the hammered technique typical of Brabantine ecclesiastical-influenced coinage of the early 13th century. |
