Reverse description A large ornate cross pattée dominates the central field, its expanded arms terminating near the periphery of the coin and featuring decorative cusped or foliated ends. A small central boss or pellet marks the intersection of the cross arms. The four quarters of the field are each occupied by a small ring or annulet with a central pellet, arranged symmetrically to reinforce the cruciform composition. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, and the workmanship reflects the hammered technique typical of Brabantine ecclesiastical-influenced coinage of the early 13th century.
