| Opis awersu | Central field displays a stylized ducal or comital monogram enclosed within a beaded inner circle, the whole surrounded by a peripheral Latin legend. The design is characteristic of mid-12th century feudal hammered coinage, executed in a crude but distinctive die-cut style. The legend GAVFRIDVS, referencing Count Geoffrey of Brittany, runs around the outer margin in bold Romanesque lettering.
